New toy in the hamshack was source of new issues, which have to be solved… and Mr. Murphy knew it 🙂

The station was completely configured and tested during Friday. But uHAM router SW didn’t see the MK2R+ after switch-on… 15 minutes to the start! Finally – USB MK2R+ cable re-plugging solved it after hard cable mess climbing… 3 minutes before the start.

FTDX-101D is good radio, but I didn’t have much time to be familiar with it, so I used it as Radio2. Many called stations (all) asked me for repeating of NR. Suspicious… I turned on WEB SDR during the break and found completely destroyed RF of „5NN NR“ message in the air, regardless TCVR CW monitor was OK. I tried to find the source (SW, HW, TCVR settings…) but problem disappeared during investigations. I got used to 101D, but one thing is completely bad – RIT. I had to use it frequently and it’s unequivocally the worst solution ever.

Conditions – bands were opened, except 10m and 160m with low activity, but with various up an down periods. I started on 20m and it was better than 40m start in SSB leg. Saturday was fine so I hopped in good conditions on Sunday. But it was worse, with many directions opened only a bit. Fortunately, I was able to find good quiet frequencies, so I was successfully able to copy many stations almost on the noise level.

At the end – good relax, results not as good as the last year, say standard one. Few HW problems will have to be repaired after this contest season. But life is not only about contesting, in addition, my station is „one man show“, hi.
